The Self Closing Flood Barrier range has in common the principle of harnessing the power of weather to activate the flood defence barrier to provide an innovative and cost effective solution, serving and protecting strategic urban and commercial areas.
The Mini and Midi Self Closing Flood Barriers have been developed to protect doors, double doors and small gates against floods. The working principle is very similar to that of the larger Self Closing Flood Barrier but with its reduced scale, it does not require a service pit but is filled by rising flood water, through a small inlet pip

Overview
The SCFB Mini (1m) and Midi (2.5m) systems are activated when flood water rises to within 100mm of flood level. A small filling pipe, which is situated adjacent to the barrier at 400mm below flood level, allows water to fill the basin in the pit and the barrier floats and rises
When the basin is completely full, the closing surface locks the barrier in a watertight position.
This self contained unit comprises a polyester basin; a polyester floating barrier wall which is 40mm thick; a PUR foam core that allows it to float without absorbing any water.
When the flood level subsides, the basin is drained using a pump which is surface mounted. Located in a waterproof compartment this function allows the barrier to return to its resting position. The surface lid on the barrier prevents the inflow of waste or debris into the system.
The SCFB Mini and Midi need a 220V connection. The systems can be fitted as standard with a telemetry early warning system that can be remotely monitored.
