Open Fronted Nest Box 2HW
It is usually attached to a tree using an aluminium nail. It can also be hung from a branch.
It can be freely suspended which gives added protection to its occupants from predators. It is very popular in private gardens and especially around fruit trees, mainly in areas where the trees are short and have many branches.

Occupants
Mainly pied wagtail, spotted flycatcher as well as black redstart where present. Sometimes occupied by robin and wren.
Hanging Methods

FG - Suspended from a branch by a closed loop

FO - Hooked over a branch

FT - This method, with a bracket to hold the box away from the tree and the FG-type loop. It can be attached to the trunk and offers even better protection against cats, dormice and martins.
